This has been a great year for me hunting with my kids.
I can't believe the luck we are having.
When Tyson was drawn for moose I expected to teach him
the hardships of moose hunting and if we were lucky see a moose.
We left the truck one hour before legal hunting time with the
wind blowing and rain falling this was going to be a test for the young
hunter.
After arriving at our predetermined spot we called of and on in the dark
after legal time the calling was intensified I thought I could hear a bull
but the wind was blowing and I could not pin point where he was.
Finally right at sunrise the moose stepped out of the willows I pointed the bull to Tyson .He had trouble seeing it right away but once he did up came his gun. One well placed shot right through the heart and the bull was on the ground. I am very proud of how he handled the moment and made the shot before getting nervous.
This isn't the biggest moose but I have never seen one drop that fast before.
I told Tyson it could be a lot of years before something like this happens again so savor the moment. For all of you wondering yes my kids do go to
school .
