"so let's slip inside the mermaid's mind
until chance rewind's trance induced time
I could catch more at a circus laundremat
or bobbers here its desolation row"
Its something taken out of context that was written at a different time, at a different place, and by a different color. It had a special meaning to me when The Storm transformed my favorite meditation sanctuary into Desolation Row. What would happen now? Would it ever be the same?

A mere 14 months before, It seemed impossible as depicted by the images above. But every sunrise gets us closer to normalcy, now I think I'll call it Resurection Row.
The floating dock in the background is the same one that was deposited on the highway by the storm. Oh, yeah, the fisher person on the boardwalk is none other than the Good Capn. Wetlander.

Last time we fished, She got a dozen or so and I got the skunk. This time it would be different. Or not.:o

We each caught a few more specks from the boardwalk and decided to take a ride up the bayou to a secret dead end canal. She did it to me again! Only this time with a slam.

We must have caught several hundred specks, but only a few reds. Food was fantastic. The only thing we were missing was Indian Sweet Potato Pie.;)

When Red said he did a little catfishing down there...somehw I was thinking he meant something else..
http://gallery.menoutdoors.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=4713&cat=1018
Sent me this one too..
http://gallery.menoutdoors.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=4712&cat=1018
So at first I figured he just had the camera set to "movie"(as opposed to photo) on accident but then I realized...he came up with a whole new artistic way to capture the moment.:thumbs_up
To much for a photo but really not enough to call it a movie...so what do we name this new artistic expression?
Poovie? Mhoto? whatchoothink?

A little warm for the board walk today. Went to Leeville instead with Choup-r and yak drifted some new oyster reefs. We ended up with 50 keepers and a wet ass.:o

I want to see 25 trout on a stringer. Or the dolphin or shark lunching on them.
Choupiquer
12-19-2006, 06:48 AM
How about x3. Thats Choup-minus-r on the left and LDT. We yakked these up yesterday in 3 feet of crystal clear water over an oyster reef. Less that 200 yds from La 1 just past Leeville, La. All were caught swimming a blue moon Dudley on a 1/8 oz jighead. The three or four bigger ones came on top water super spooks.
Hey Red, member those concrete pilings for the new elevated hwy?;)

I already surmised that, I may get some time back plus some time off so might be homeless on LA1 for a bit. Ever get the not so shifty Big Johnson shifty?

Any jobs at AB that pay enough to keep me in rattlebobs and dogfood???
Wetlander
12-20-2006, 06:04 PM
guess I'm gonna have to go fix the Big J!!
Shoot, Red, all you need is a little lean-to and you could squat on the empty lot just past the Guide House!!! Water on 3 sides, yak at the doorstep, minnow trap in the slip, and you're good to go!
Hey, do Termite and I get a gold star for fishing in the rain today? On purpose? It's the last chance we'll have for a while, so we just had to go. Caught 5 keeper trout, but it was too wet to take photos. Ate em for supper!

Just a blast from the past. Hey, Red, see the "Ace In The Hole" sitting on the road? It got moved up the bayou for Gustav. Thats why those gator trout were congregated there.:thumbs_up

I am missing the red gnats. Won't be long now.
It is almost wet enough here to practise with the Revo Inshore and splash in yard.
