Been nursing two sick boys since the 5th, while reading daily trout slam reports happening not a 15 minute boat ride from my house. Then I end up sick. Great. Hey Doc, give me a SHOT so I can get over this quick, cuz THE TROUT ARE BITING HARD!
No fever today except the yellow-mouth fever. ;)

Hired a sitter for the two youngest boys on the mend, and took my oldest son (Phlinch) out for a beautiful day on the lake. The weather was so perfect, we didn't even have to wear a jacket on the ride out. I'm sorry it warmed up and melted your ice; but that same heat wave did me a BIG favor. We caught a nice mess of these . . . .

Only got to fish for about two hours before the sun went down; but it was well worth the effort. Average length today=16 inches using Red's favorite Cajun Thunder Rattle Cork. Trout can't resist that sound.
So, how's the ice fishing? :thumbs_up

Darth, I was hoping to cheer ya up!

Yep, Choup, we were in the overly crowded lake. Phlinch is his current "My Space" screen name. I left my boat in the water. Hoping to get a sitter and go out again this afternoon. :thumbs_up

Red, sorry. I thought you just generically liked rattle corks. I'll have to see what those look like. I even thought about lining mine all up and making a photo for you. I think Choup hates them - says they're for dogris. Whatever! Phlinch is a heavy rock guitar player - could you tell? I don't have a scale yet, but biggest trout was 18 inches long. Nice-size filets, tender and tasty. Much bigger and they're a little too thick for my preference. Baby sitter flaked out on me today. Be going out tomorrow while 13 yo is in school. Termite goes with me, though. I'll be sure and post pics! ;)

Choup wit de R will pitch one if he's outfished about 10 to 1 or he moves the boat, a situation I derisively refer to as "We are musky fishing again?"

As for the rattlebobs I tied that one on and it rocked for 4 days. So it is my fave. Try going with a longer drop in deep water with 'em too.:shade:

PS. I'll trade these dry heaves for any fishing related item. What a rotten wake up today....
