Well, I'm rested and recoverend now from my Mille Lacs trip....what a big shoot! Got there Thursday night, and hit the ground running nonstop till Monday night, then drove back to Chicago all night. Whew! I won't bore you with all the boring stuff; You know, all the different resorts and cabins we filmed at. I do have to drop some thanks for the hospitality of several ppl, and if you get to Mille Lacs, look them up (if the powers that be don't mind). Jim McCrank and Tony Roach, our guides for the trip; Kevin of Mac's Twin Bay Resort for putting us in a beautiful ice house that gave my partner Roger one of the biggest Walleye's in his life thru the ice, and the folks at Appledorn's Sunset Bay and Twin Pines for great accomodations and hospitality.

Here's a few highlite photos from the trip....

Huge coup for Midwest Outdoors....we got ahold of a helicopter for some aerials....the photos didn't turn out, but the vid did.

They also launched a bunch of hot air balloons on Sunday...here's one of the more colorful characters from the crew;

Here's Roger and his 27" Walleye from Mac's Twin Bay....came about 15 minutes after the Nascar race finished. We were hanging shiners on the rattle reels, and were ecstatic when we found this guy on the end of it. Only fish of the night, but it was worth it.

Monday was fishing with Tony Roach, Gary Roach's nephew....you may also know Gary as Mr. Walleye. Well, it looked like finding our white finned delicacies run's in the family: Only one little guy, the rest were all 17"-19", and one 24". We kept 7, but threw back twice that many.

You know I gotta pose with these beauties.

Roger didn't quite realize how thick the North Dakota blood runs thru my veins, so had to snap some pics to show everyone in the office.

They estimate there's between 4000-5000 houses on the ice this year....I snapped this one on our way in at the end of the day:

Had some fun, we caught some fish, and I had fresh walleye for dinner.
Till next time folks,
Jaxon

This segment will air sometime after November, probably right before or after the St. Paul ice fishing show. As for my handiwork, all the segments this weekend are pieces that I edited. Check your local listings for time and station at http://www.midwestoutdoors.com/frame.asp?page=tv
