This photo has recently been pulled from another forum of less than 30 people, the reason given is quoted below.

"It was NOT just my decision to remove that photo.. And NO I don't think all of your pic's are controversial, but this photo in question has a animal being killed at a bait, and that to some MAY be in question... I have camera's at bait's right now, and I also hunt over bait's, WE have no problem with any of your other pics, just not wanting the anti's to get ammo to stop baiting here in sask, I am not saying that just this pic in general will stop the baiting issue, but may have something to do with it in the future.. mabye... and a predator killing an animal over something mankind placed, well we are just doing what we think is right... "

I'm looking for as many opinions as possible here, to help me understand whether this photo should be completely remove from ALL places on the internet.

Keep in mind that this photo WAS posted here and elsewhere before with NO NEGATIVE RESPONSES AT ALL!

I will NOT respond to ANY posts here (and I hope others will not either), I'm just looking for a general opinion on it in regards to the quoted reason above, for it being removed.

PLEASE keep it real.....no profanity or name calling, just an HONEST opinion!

I assume you put up your cameras to take pictures of wildlife in the wild, which is exactly what that pic is. Predator kills happen all the time but are rarely photographed. You were lucky to capture one on film. As for the baiting issue, a healthy animal has a better chance against predation than one that is starving. IMO

If it was mine I would leave it up. Good luck with the decision Razor.

I think your over reacting razor. Take a couple days away from the computer and think about it. It's been a long winter. I think baiting gives saskatchewan an unfair advantage put it does help the outfitting business out. I think anything that will draw hunters and prosper the industry should be allowed. I just wish Alberta would do it.

As far as the picture goes, coyotes are killing deer everyday, so leave it posted but respect what the forum want's also. I read the rules on the other forum and I don't think they were out of line. They are sporting a business attached to a internet forum which seperates them from other forums.

I have no problem with the picture at all, but if someone doesn't want it on the forum they own or control, that's their decision.

well in my view if you get one negative here thats enough and it should be removed. Most of us are hunters here and undestand nature. However there are other variables involved as well. If the other site doesnt want it on, remove it and move on. My 2 cents worth.

I have no problem with the pic. Just nature running its course. It is kinda neat to see a live pic of a coyote doing it's thing though.

There are a lot of other worse things out there that people post on forums.Trapping in snares etc. Although it does not offend me, others think otherwise. I say leave it up, its a great pick. If they got the deer at a bait pile I'm sure they would have taken it down in the bush where the snow is
3 feet deep.

Leave it up as long as you can. I don't think that most tree huggers and anti's realize that wolves and coyotes eat there catch alive. If it were me, I would rather be shot dead than let something eat me alive. Thats Mother Nature doing her thing.

Yup, when I was elk hunting about fifteen years ago I saw a poor doe caught up to her belly in the silt along the Red Deer River. A coyote hopped onto her back, ripped open her rear haunches, and fed on it without killing it. The poor doe could only flail it's head and make the most horrible bawling noise I've ever heard. That was the most gruesome sight I've ever seen in nature. Sorry for sidetracking the thread Razortec.

Dogs gotta eat too. Wiley filled his belly on this one so others could live! Survival of the fittest. Cool pic.

Here is my 2 cents. There is nothing wrong with the photo and there is nothiing unnatural about a coyote killing a deer.

I think where the problem lies is with pile of grain on the ground. These baiting stations obviously attract deer. It works good for us human hunters but it also works well for the cainine hunters. As the deer continue to frequent an area because there is a food source for them.

Granted this could be a field of alfalfa, clover etc that would attact the deer
and the same thing would happen.

I am guessing there problem with the picture is the use of bait. Which we
already had an interesting debate on.

But I certainly have no issues with the photo.

i dont think that the PETA people need to see things like that. You would be surprised what they could do with pics like that. I assume you like deer hunting right. pics like that can get stuff shut down in a hurry. They dont care that it is natures coarse, all they see is the slaughter at a bait pile.

It doesn't matter to a coyote if a deer is feeding at bait , spilled grain by a bin or a haystack. They will still prey on deer where and whenever they can.

I don't see how that photo is worse for the PITA boogeyman to see than any other hunting photo or clip. If anything, it's less offensive. I wouldn't worry about offending PETA members anyway. When their local McDonalds close shop they will starve out anyway:D

AGAIN, this poll was NOT to determine who is right or wrong, it was needed by me to see if I was missing something about this photo, to determine whether I needed to remove it from the web completely.
Thanks to all that participated and the numerous emails....I will NOT be removing the photo!
