Just wondering what all the bear hunters out there are doing with their bears this year? I'm thinking on a life size mount and plan to do the work myself. The hides already sent off to Carrot River (Northern Tanners) and I was told it should be done in a month or so. This should give me some time to come up with a form and what pose to use. Kinda leaning towards this one.http://gallery.menoutdoors.com/gallery/data/500/forms_picture.jpg
Wondering if anyone else has done a full bear mount and what they decided on for a pose etc?

ya the snarl look is to fake for my liking. I personally like a natural pose.I am searching for the right pose for my life mount from the island hunt

Getting a half mount done for the wall with him "all snarly looking"!
I wanted him to look like he was po'd since I never let him eat
any of the chips I brought before I Muzzied him! ;) :D

Nic not sure what a professional taxidermist would charge but I've got it figured out at around 650.00-$700.00 thats doing the taxidermy work myself.
Appreciate the feedback on what everyones doing with their bears its good to hear the what's and the whys.As for myself I prefer an action to a relaxed mount, gives it some character. A ho hum........ to holy that looks mean!!!!

I like your thinking, plus I want my Bear to look like he can handle a Polaris,
not like he got stuck with a Honda!!! LMAO ;) :D

Remember, if you find a pose you like but it is snarling it can be altered to a closed mouth. I agree, it does look more natural. Some people just like different things. You need to make sure you do what appeals to you, cause once it's done.....

You're right whiteflag with a little work, forms can be altered into whatever pose you want. The particular form I was looking at comes in the closed mouth pose as well.
