Wat a'bout them paddlefish!!! To me, that is extreme fishing..when a fish has the mustard to swim away from you, because of the way you get em' hooked, that is a fight.
Prehistoric.
are they tasty?

sorry, i think its caused im prejudiced about my love for the walleye, but i must admit the paddlefish are very awsome..! probably not overly excited cause i never caught one....i have never hunted in my life but even the hunting pic's are great to look at, i hope this guy keeps on puttin up great stuff.........i am gettin pretty jealous of the life you candians get to live, your winter sucks but livable, but man your spring, summer and fall make me ache inside, i have been to ontario 16times and want to be there like tomarrow, but i never made sasch, maybe we might have to make a MOD trip someday...looks to me i might be worth it..;) gl

Our winters are horrible. Thats when you curl up with your bird, spend time with her, because you both know spring, summer and fall is coming.

Glad you all enjoyed some of my pics.My wife and I love the paddlefishing. We have gone for 6 years now.We have always caught. There is a 33 % success rate for the tags sold. Now there is 2 mandatory catch and release days per week of the season. This is when we go.This year I landed 7,and my wife 2.It is great to get the pic and let them go on to spawn. It is a very physical sport. Not so much the landing of the fish. The 30lb line and 14foot surf rods handle that.It is the 1000's of cast and jerk, cast and jerk that leaves bruises on your sides and strained muscles you didnt even know you had. That 10/0 treble and 5 ounce weight start to get heavy real fast.We have also snagged off species while there. We have snagged lots of shovelnose sturgeans, saugars.white bass pike and lots of small channel cats, trees, rocks and I am sure afew old cars that we never dragged to shore. It must be the cleanest river after the paddlefisherman are done. And dont even get me started about my real passion of hunting.Bearhunter found out that I wont stop talk about.Love this web site.
