elk calls.......... what do you use?

wanted to ask this for awhile now what kind of calls do other's use and not that i want to know peoples secrets on elk calling..........there's is alot of elk hunters on this site and i'am just wonding if anybody uses the same as me and am getting pumped about the up coming season

cow call i use a hyper hot by wood wise and a carlton sqeez-me,mouth reed by carltonand some primos

I'm a big fan of the Primos calls. For both bugling and cow calls, I only use the diaphrams, I prefer the double reeds. I've got one in my mouth pretty much all day long. I don't carry a grunt tube because it seems they're always catching on branches and making more noise than I care for. I've found having this call in my mouth and hands free has been essential in stopping bulls for a shot. I also like to carry the Hootchie Mama on my belt, its a great sounding call.

I am more of a still hunter for elk,but always have a hootchie momma around my neck.works great.

Totally agree, I always have my hoochie mama, diaphram call for buguling and cow calling, also I use the primos hot lips with tone converter, I like to try and reproduce 3 different sounding cow calls, here is a link to the hot lips

If you are cheap like me and want to make your own elk call just find some electric tech cable. Remove the wire from aprox 3-4 ft of tech cable and then form a coil with the empty tech and tape it to hold in coil. Blow into the end and it sounds very real to me. Experiment with various size and lengths. Best to find something to put over the end you blow on as it can be sharp.

Sorry, I don't have a picture cause I haven't hunted elk for a number of years and my old call got chucked with the last house move.

BUSH IN THE BUSH diaphragm calls for me, he's also from British Columbia

I use a Primos Terminator for bugling, very easy to learn on and sounds good to me. Use a E.L.K. Cow Talk call for talking like the cows.

I use a carlton mouth reid and a hootchie mama, plus i just got the IMAKADABULLCRAZY call by primos and i think it works absolutely great

I have a hoochie mama, and a power bugle.
Still in the learning process of calling. Was out sunday am, tring to fine the elk herd here at home, we have a hunt farm right in the area were the elk are that I am looking for, a couple of bugles, and I am not good at this at all, 3 bull elk came out of the bushes on the hunt farm wanting a piece of me. The power bugle works great, even for 1st timers. they reponded to the hoochie mama also. was the neetest thing I have withnessed.

I only use Larry Jones, (green) double reed old bull.
Larry Jones grunt tube.
For cow calling I use primos Ivory plate (single) mouth reed and a Loman soft bite.
