original reports were that the right engine popped twice...from some witnesses....but that could of being anything.... Would be why the jet went over to the right...loss of power....we will know in a year or so after the report.

That CF-18 is similar to the US model FA-18 Hornet which is powered by two GE F404's. I work for a firm that produces the afterburner nozzles for those.

The you tube video I saw you can hear the popping sounds fromt he engine, sounds like a compressor stall... he was in slow flight at the time, and might have taken a bird.. might never know.

Lets be happy that he survived..
