Whoa! Last nights catch

Last nights haul. We're scouting Medina Lake for an up coming tournament starting Saturday evening at 8 PM and ends Sunday
morning at 8 AM. Guess we didn't do too bad last night. We had alot of fun even though we got home at 5:30 AM this morning.
I think I'm going to let Duane (our oldest son) take my place on the boat in this weekends tourney so they (Butch & Mat) can spend "quality boy time" together.
They'll do just fine without me, I'm sure. If he doesn't show, I'll be on the boat. Ya know, sleep is good? (I've heard anyway.) I'm starting to feel like a vampire! Hurry and get to bed before the sun comes up. These are carp and Gar and Butch with almost 10 pound Blue Cat.
Enjoy!

That must be tough on the equipment, I would think you'd go thru lots of arrows.

Eat the catfish and alligator gar, but bury the others in the pasture like the Indians used to do? Fertilizer? Here, the trash fish have taken over, so I think this is a great sport that helps remove some of that population and get it back in sinc again. I've been seeing some REALLY big bass lately! Can't shoot bass.
I mean, 8 pounders! Butch and I are competing for the smallest gars now. Last night, I shot one @ 5 inches long and he shot one 4 1/2 inches. Darn it! Took a first time anything, hunting magazine editor out last night. She had alot of fun, but not strong enough to pull a 37 pound bow back. Her husband shot a nice catfish though. She tried. Bruised alot of little fish. ha ha!

BEERSLAYER1, we use the same arrow over and over. We occasionally replace or sharpen the tips. They're made for fishin'. I'll have to show ya'll the set up one of these days. Muzzy makes the set ups.

By the way, if any of you avid fisher people ever get down this way, please come our way and let's go fishing or bowfishing. I live on the river so not a big deal, but an awful lot of fun! I'd would love to share an adventure with you.
Good Fishin'!

You eat the gar? Are they any good?!! There's a lot of those buggers in Tennessee where we fish!

Cool competition for the smallest...makes ya hone in your skillz!! I really do have to try that bowfishin one of these days!

We only eat the Alligator gar. Not yet though,(my freezer is full of it) as they say they make nice steaks and taste like catfish. No way on the needlenose, short nose gar.
Alligator gar are big! Like we caught @ 60 lber which is small, but have seen 270 lbers. They're supposed to be "very good eating" from what other fishermen say.
Guess I'll find out.
